About Koda
I'm currently studying acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and I offer Zenthai Shiatsu as part of my growing therapeutic bodywork practice.
My interest in this work comes from a deep appreciation for the healing potential of touch. I've seen how stress, grief, trauma, and the demands of daily life can become held in the body, and how being met with skilled, attentive touch can create space for rest, regulation, and internal shifts.
My background in Qi Gong bodywork allows me to integrate mindful energy practices into each session, supporting the flow of your body’s energy and enhancing relaxation and stress relief. With my training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, I bring a clinical understanding of the body’s structure, meridian systems, and patterns of tension, ensuring that sessions will address both muscular and energetic imbalances.
I aim to show up for each client with openness and genuine curiosity, creating a space for you to settle and feel at ease. From that place, we can collaborate on a treatment that meets your needs.
When I'm not in clinic or studying, you'll often find me outdoors, tending gardens, or spending time in my sea kayak.
About Zenthai Shiatsu
A Zenthai Shiatsu session is a full-body experience that works with your muscles, joints, and nervous system to release tension and restore balance. Founded by Gwyn Williams, Zenthai Shiatsu is a blend of three powerful modalities, Zen Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage, and Osteopathic techniques.
Sessions take place on a comfortable floor mat, similar to a soft futon. Throughout the treatment, your body may be gently guided into a variety of supported positions — sometimes lying down, on your side, or occasionally seated — allowing the work to move through the body in a natural and comfortable way.
Zenthai sessions are received fully clothed, so wearing loose, warm, and comfortable clothing is recommended. During the session, your practitioner may apply steady pressure, guide the body through gentle stretches and joint movements, and create space for the fascia to release. Movements may be slow and deliberate, or gently dynamic, guided by your body’s response, supporting both physical flexibility and nervous system regulation.
Most clients notice a profound sense of calm during the session, increased mobility, and a release of tension that often feels deeper and longer-lasting than standard massage. Some also experience emotional release or a feeling of mental clarity, as the nervous system settles and energy pathways are balanced.
